2.1 Not a Guarantee of Publishing

Editing improves clarity, structure, and quality, but it does not guarantee acceptance by literary agents, publishers, contests, or other gatekeepers. We make no promises regarding publication outcomes or commercial success.

2.2 Not Legal or Sensitivity Review

Our edits do not constitute legal review, fact-checking, or professional sensitivity reading. You are responsible for ensuring factual accuracy and legal compliance in your manuscript.

3. Client Responsibilities

By hiring us, you represent and warrant that:

You are the author or rights holder of the materials submitted.
Your manuscript does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other third-party rights.
Your content does not contain unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or abusive material.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from the content you provide.

4. Payments and Refunds

All pricing is displayed on the Site or provided through individualized quotes. Payment is due as outlined in your invoice or Service agreement.

5. Turnaround Times

Any timelines provided are estimates. While we make every effort to meet agreed-upon deadlines, delays can occur due to manuscript complexity, revisions, communication delays, or unforeseen circumstances. We are not liable for losses caused by turnaround time changes.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to your manuscript. Edited files, feedback, and notes are delivered exclusively to you.

We retain ownership of:

Processes, editing methodologies, and workflow systems
Website content, branding, and materials on SapphireEditing.com

You may not reproduce or redistribute any Site content without our permission.

7. Confidentiality

We treat all Client materials as confidential and do not share manuscripts or project details except:

With your permission
As required by law
As necessary to perform the Services (e.g., subcontracted editors if applicable)

8. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites you visit.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Tennessee law, we are not liable for:
